INSHARP-Award-2011-300The Indiana Department of Labor awarded the Indiana Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (INSHARP) certification to Gartland Foundry for the fourth consecutive period, on November 3, 2014. This continues to demonstrate Gartland's commitment to employee health and safety. Gartland has been the recipient of this award since 2007.

INSHARP, one of Indiana's exemplary safety and health recognition programs, was established to recognize and promote safety and health management programs throughout the state. Based on benchmarks for advancement and development of safety and health programs within the workplace, INSHARP status can be achieved when management and employees work together to create and maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Walk of Fame Plaques - Terre HauteThe City of Terre Haute is creating a Walk of Fame to recognize residents and individuals that spent their formative years in the Wabash Valley and have made a significant and positive contribution to their profession and impact on the history or culture of the Wabash Valley.

"This is going to be a very impressive project by the time all is said and done," said Fred Nation, an official with Hulman and Co. and a member of the Walk of Fame committee.

The cost of making the plaques is being donated by Gartland Foundry, a business with deep roots in Terre Haute, said William Grimes, president of the company. Making the initial mold for the plaques will cost several thousand dollars, and each plaque will involve hundreds more dollars in setup and production costs, he said.

"We just feel it's important," Grimes said. "We're glad to be a part of it."
